Dara & Ed’s Road to Mandalay
The brief was to emphasize the contrast between well known Thailand and Malaysia against Myanmar, which after decades of isolation required an aged look.
Colourist Kenny Gibb completed the grade in Baselight taking advantage of its ability to view all scenes at once, providing not only speed, but also consistency for the stars of the show. The Online was then passed through to Julian Nelson in Media Composer with the Baselight Editions plug-in, allowing a renderless, seamless transition between the systems. As each shot had handles and the grade was not baked in, Nelson had the flexibility required to fulfil the client’s wishes.
